FAQ

Vehicle details & History

The information has been updated at the Swedish Transport Agency but is not showing on Car.info.
We retrieve and update information from the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen) once a week. You can see the exact date of the next scheduled update under the "Vehicle History" tab.
It says the vehicle has been repaired by an insurance company. What does that mean?
This notice means that the vehicle has been damaged at some point during its lifetime and that the cost of repairing the damage has been estimated by an insurance company.
What does the status "Abnormal condition" mean?
This status means that the vehicle has, at some point, been advertised with an issue that affects road safety or could result in a significant decrease in value.
Can I check a vehicle's previous odometer readings and service history for free?
By searching for a registration number on Car.info, you get a free odometer reading graph that compiles historical mileage data from vehicle inspections, sales listings and service records.
How can I value my vehicle online without having to provide contact details or sell it to a dealer?
On Car.info, you can get a completely independent and free car valuation simply by entering the registration number. The valuation is calculated objectively based on actual market prices, historical listings, mileage and equipment level, without having to provide your email address, phone number or commit to a car dealer.
Can I compare technical specifications and factory equipment between different car models?
Car.info offers one of Sweden's most comprehensive databases for comparing vehicle specifications. Our service allows you to compare curb weight, acceleration (0–100 km/h), luggage capacity, towing capacity, fuel consumption, as well as equipment packages, factory-installed equipment and optional packages offered by the manufacturer.

Classifieds & Prices

The mileage shown in a listing is incorrect – how can I change it?
If the classified is still active, only the advertiser can update the mileage. Once the change has been made, it may take up to 24 hours to appear on Car.info. If it has not been updated after 24 hours, please contact our customer support team using the "Leave feedback" feature.
How can I change the text in the listing history displayed on Car.info?
Texten som visas är ett arkivfoto på första utkastet av annonsen och denna bild kan inte ändras. Så länge annonsen är aktiv kommer dock uppdaterad text att synas när du följer länken till annonsen.
How can I change the classified price?
The price is entirely controlled by the advertiser. We always display the original advertised price, which is not necessarily the final selling price. Please note that we do not display price adjustments made at the time a listing is removed.

Privacy, Personal Data & Corrections

I want to add or correct information about a vehicle.
Use the "Give feedback" button on the relevant vehicle page. Describe what you would like to add or correct, and feel free to attach supporting documentation to verify the information. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
Can I remove information about my vehicle?
Our vision is to create the greatest possible transparency in the car market. We review all requests individually. If any information is incorrect, you are welcome to contact our customer support team using the "Leave feedback" feature. Describe what you would like to add or correct, and feel free to attach supporting documentation to verify the information. We will get back to you as soon as possible. Unfortunately, if the information is correct, we do not modify or remove it.
Can I have my registration number/personal data removed from Car.info?
We do not store personal identity numbers on our website in order to protect vehicle owners and their vehicles. It is not possible to search by personal identity number or registration number to retrieve owner information. The only location information displayed is the municipality where the vehicle is registered (and only if the municipality has more than 20,000 inhabitants). Information about your vehicles or their previous history is not considered personal data and is therefore not information we remove from our service.
How can I remove my personal data?
Car.info does not process personal data such as personal identity numbers or names. It is not possible to link a vehicle to a specific owner through our service. For questions regarding vehicle ownership information, we recommend contacting the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen). The information we store about you is the information you provided when registering your account, which you can easily delete under "Settings" when logged in.
What are Car.info's terms of use?
You can find our terms of use here: Norwegian: Du finner våre brukervilkår her: terms of use.
