About Ford Mondeo
When the Mondeo was launched in 1993 as the successor of Sierra, it was a totally new car, with transverse Zetec-engine (from the then new Escort), front-wheel drive and a quite bland 90's Eurobox design. The model was a hit with the rep's, as the quality as well as handling was better than before, and they were sharpened up with the 1997 facelift. In 2001, Mondeo was replaced with an all-new model, larger and more grown-up, ready to take on the market lost with the previously abandoned Scorpio.
