About Volvo XC90 1st Generation 1st Facelift
Volvo XC90 was presented in 2002 as a competitor to BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz ML. It was an almost immediate sales success, not least in important and export markets like USA and the UK. Most of the sold cars have been all wheel drive-version, but FWD models have been produced as well.The car was built with five cylinder diesels, five- and six cylinder petrol engines, and from 2005 even a Yamaha-produced 315 bhp V8 petrol engine. XC90 got a much needed facelift with model year 2012 and was produced up until 2014. It was succeede in 2015 by an all-new XC90.
