The third generation Volvo V70 was presented as year model 2008, and was largely built on the already launched second generationS80 . The model was produced with an array of engines, petrolwise from a Ford-derived 2-litre four pot via Volvo's own five cylinder engines up to a turbo charged straight six pushing out more than 300 bhp. On the diesel side there were alternatives from a 1,6- or 2-litre engine from Peugeot/Citroën/Ford as well as the well known Volvo five cylinder engine in different stages of tune. The model was popular in its home country Sweden as well as on export markets, was facelifted in 2012 and succeeded in 2016 av V90.
