About Tesla

Founded in 2003 by among others, Elon Musk, the serial entrepreneur behind Paypal and SpaceX, Tesla Motors developes electic cars and batteries for home energy storage. Tesla's first model, Roadster was launched in 2008, but the saloon Tesla Model S in various specs has been a commercial success, offering usable range never seen among EV's before. This combined with the development of a net of 'superchargers', giving hundreds of miles of range from about half an hour of charging, the Model S has become one of the most or the most sold electric cars in the world in just a few years.
