About Adler

Adler (German for 'eagle') was a bicycle manufacturer in Franfurt that started making cars in the year 1900. In the beginning of the 30s, Adler was the third largest car manufacturer after Opel and Auto-Union. Alder's factories were bombed during the was and when the company was put under American administration when the war ended it was decided that Adler would cease making cars. They were however still producing motorcycles until the company was taken over by Grundig in 1957 and that line was suspended as well.
